In cooperation with the Foundation Velo Alapítvány(www.velotanya.hu) and with the goal to give integration and tolerance a cultural forum, we organize after the successful start of the last year the 15th August 2009 at Vácrátót, on the Ranch Velo Tanya the second open-air event called: KÉZ A KÉZVBEN – HELPING HANDS & HISTORICA HUNGARIA(www.historica-hungaria.gportal.hu).
The poster of the event will be this year again the winning work of the painting competition. The competition is open to pupils of the classes 6-8 of the Petőfi Sándor School of Vácrátót. The theme can be chosen out of the proposed scenes of the historic play. The winner will get a certificate and a special prize. The work of the winner and the placed will be published in the flyer, too. All works will be presented on the web-site of the event.
Our most important goal is, that Vácrátót will be now and in the future an event-location, where everybody has free entrance and where disabled persons and those originating from minorities can exhibit their works of high quality and take part in the shows, as well as everybody else, who supports the spirit of the event by taking part in it.
We point out, that we don’t charge exhibitors with place-fee or other payments and that all participants – even the professional – don’t get any royalties or reimbursements, supporting also in this way the spirit of the event.
At 10.00 o’clock the event starts with the official opening at the Ranch Velo Tanya. Wheelchair-dancers, sign-dancers, falconers, archers, blind-guiding dogs, hussars, folk-dancers and artistic ensembles will entertain the visitors, there will be exhibitions of hand-craft and arts, interactive playhouse, face-painting, etc.
We asked László Sánta, one of the leading actors of the musical Dance of the vampires and young member of the Budapest Operetta-Theater, to present the event.
During the „Betyár (Robber)-Cooking-Competition” traditional dishes of the Puszta will be prepared on open fire. Our visitors might try them out during the dinner time, we also plan to offer this dinner to our participants. During the break music from different folk-groups will entertain everybody (Gypsy, Klezmer, etc.).
Everybody might try out his knowledge participating in a quiz, whose winner will get a special prize.
During the riding-ability-competition disabled and not disabled riders compete in different games and shows.
Before the play we will stage this year a musical-medley of about 1 hour, presented by well-known and popular stars of the Hungarian musical- and theater-scene.
At 18.45 Uhr will start thehistoric play with various actors. In spectacular and colorful living pictures with dialogues and music we will follow the journey full of obstacles of two young lovers through Hungarian History from the conquest to our days.
A short description of the historic play is available in several languages (Hungarian, German, English, French, Russian). On demand we will send it to our visitors by e-mail or print.
Another goal of the event is – for the pleasure of the inhabitants and the stimulation of the tourism – to expand it more and more each year to a real festival, and to present for the first time in Hungary the famous French Aquatique-Show (www.aquatique-show.com) to our visitors.
The location is disabled-friendly, on demand we offer a free microbus service from/to the railway/bus-stop to/from the location.
As in the last year, we wish to offer a small gift to each participant (in 2008 this has been a key-ring pendant with the logos of the event and the Foundation Velo Alapítvány), as well as a memory-card with the motto of the year’s event.
It was a great pleasure to us, to be able to offer all participants of 2008 a memory-DVD as a gift, and we wish to continue this tradition.
We plan to offer our participants the dinner and - on demand also the supper - of Saturday and offer to those, who stay over Friday or Saturday night, accommodation in the block-houses and the possibility for supper and/or breakfast.
In 2008 we had the great honor, that Mrs. Dalma Mádl, the wife of the former president of the state of Hungary, has accepted the patronage of the event, we ask her to do so in 2009, too.
